At Community Hospice, we are continually reminded that compassionate care extends far beyond medical support. It’s the little touches of kindness and thoughtfulness from our community that bring extra light to the days of our patients and families. Recently, the Auburn chapter of Sigma Alpha sorority demonstrated that in a beautiful way.
The young women of Sigma Alpha took the time to handcraft heartfelt cards for our patients and their loved ones. Each card carried with it encouraging words, warm wishes, and a reminder that no one walks this journey alone. While a card may seem like a simple gesture, to the people receiving them, it represents so much more—it’s a tangible expression of compassion, community, and care.

Our patients and families often share how much these acts of kindness mean. A cheerful card can brighten a difficult day, spark a smile, or simply reassure someone that others are thinking of them and holding them close in spirit. It is these personal, human connections that remind us of the true meaning of hospice: walking alongside families with love and support.
The Sigma Alpha sorority at Auburn has a long tradition of leadership, service, and sisterhood, and we are so grateful that they chose to extend that spirit to Community Hospice. Their creativity and generosity reflect the very best of what it means to give back.
To the ladies of Sigma Alpha—thank you for sharing your time, your talents, and your hearts. Your cards are more than paper and ink; they are symbols of encouragement and hope that continue to uplift those we serve.
