Community Hospice is dedicated to providing the best service possible for our patients. In addition to trained medical staff, we also enlist the use of volunteers to serve in multiple capacities.

Volunteers at Community Hospice:

  • Attend a comprehensive training program before they meet with patients
  • Service patients in many areas including day-to-day companionship, administrative paperwork and family support.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Visiting with patients and patient family
  • Reading to the patient
  • Writing letters or cards for the patient and family
  • Friendly phone calls to the patient or family
  • Providing yard work to the patient’s family
  • Making special handcrafted Items Including: cards, gift baskets, blankets and shawls 
  • Providing baked goods
  • Assist with shopping or household maintenance 

Volunteers with clerical skills can assist Community Hospice by: 

  • Simple administrative duties
  • Preparing Mailings 
  • Typing, photocopying, etc. 
  • Fund raising
